Rega Research hi-fi components are passionately built in the UK and are musically faithful, reliable, easy to use, affordable, and thoroughly enjoyable.
Rega has remained focused on analog sound reproduction for 50 years since a flat plinth record player with a glass platter and the world's first one-piece cast tone-arm was introduced into the world. While often imitated, Rega remains the creative leader because it brings new engineering that tackles fundamental hurdles rather than a minor cosmetic tweak. Take its new line of MM cartridges that are now in production following a decade of development spawn from the revolutionary Apheta cartridge first launched in 2005. Rega has always been very good at making theoretical concepts come to life by mastering the manufacturing challenges that have to be overcome and at the same time keeping the products affordable for everyday people and it's loyal fan base.
Rega is also very good at offering a lineup of progressively better components where costs to build the product always deliver maximum sound value. This technological hierarchy is found progressively through the turntables, tonearms, cartridges, electronics, and speakers. When costs of materials go up, Rega finds new ways to build products to keep price rises to a minimum without 'shrinkflation'. A good example of this is the new AYA speaker whose cabinet is moulded from glass reinforced cement rather than the more common but increasingly expensive wood veneered MDF.
Although Rega prefers to remain a primarily analog focused company, the most recent integrated amplifiers have included a DAC with SPDIF and TosLink inputs, and the CD players have USB inputs also. These digital inputs are engineered to preserve the musical element rather than focus on ultimate technical capability that may not always be needed.
Rega is also one of the few companies that can offer complete systems from source to speaker. These products all work synergistically with each other in great sounding systems across a range of price points.
All Rega products are made in the UK using local suppliers where possible.
Receiving outstanding reviews is only part of the story: the strength of Rega products is reflected in the growth of the company and acknowledgment it has received from outside the hi-fi industry.
At kemela we keep turntables in stock and offer after sales service such as installing new loudspeaker drivers, and cartridges.
